Visitor FAQs

What should I expect?

Visiting a new church can be exciting, but it can also be nerve wracking. We at Oxford UMC want to make you feel at home. In an effort to help our visitors know what to expect, we have addressed a few common questions below.

What time are worship services?

Oxford UMC has two worship services on Sunday mornings:

9:00 am service is located in the Fellowship Hall and is a contemporary service

11:00 am service is located in the Sanctuary and is a traditional style service

What should I wear?

You will see a range of attire depending upon which service you attend. We encourage you to join us in attire that is comfortable to you as we worship our Savior together.

Where do visitors park?

Visitors may park on the side of McClanahan Street or in the back parking lot (’Warehouse Square’).

How can I give?

We don’t expect our guests to give on their first visit, however, there will be an offering plate at both services or you may mail a contribution to PO Box 757 Oxford, NC 27565.

Online giving is also available here.

Is there a nursery for young children during worship?

Children are welcome in worship, but we also offer childcare for children ages infant – 5 years old if that better suits you.

Are there additional worship opportunities?

We welcome visitors to our Wednesday night dinners, located in the Fellowship Hall from 5:30pm – 6:30pm! Visitors are also encouraged to join us for Bible Study on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm. Bible Studies are held in 4-5 week intervals, so check the calendar for session dates!
